The APAC Summer Internship Programme is a comprehensive 10 week programme (between June to August 2019) designed to equip penultimate year students with the financial and individual competencies to potentially embark on a successful career within the BNP Paribas Group. This opportunity includes a firm wide orientation, lunch-and-learn series, networking events and on-the- job learning from our senior managers and highly experienced team members.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The creation of an Investment Banking Division in APAC takes its roots from the APAC Industrial Plan which collectively identified certain important objectives for CIB in Asia Pacific, which include:
− The deepening and strengthening of our client franchise in chosen areas / sectors
− A better nurturing of the strategic dialogue with selected clients
− An integrated client offer combining financing, access to capital markets, advisory and strategic hedging
Investment Banking APAC is an integrated client service model combining:
− General coverage teams, working in close association with Heads of Country
− Product teams including Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, M&A, Loan Capital Markets
− Integrated sectors teams for Energy National Resources & Project, Transportation, Real Estate, Telecom, Media, Tech (TMT), Financial Institutions
It is expected that the intern will acquire knowledge/understanding of institutions and develop the overall skills set required to successfully contribute to the business. Depending on the team you are working in, your responsibilities may include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
− Assist the team in information collection, due diligence and preparing all necessary documents for internal coordination
− Process data, analyze trends and prepare analysis of sector
− Coordinate the preparation of offers and replies to clients, in liaison with different internal entities and the senior members
− Learning and liaising with middle office on our transactions
− Assist the team in marketing to major clients of the bank in Asia, with active participation to mapping and setting up meetings
− Assist in identifying risks and possible solutions in the course of assignments
− Assist in preparation of necessary liaison documentation, including valuation reports information and presentations.
− Review, develop and utilize financial models and undertake basic credit analysis in close association with experienced team members
− Present output of the analysis written in a coherent manner
− Other duties assigned by management as requested
