Long Term Internship - Global Markets - Credit Risk APAC - Hong Kong
Position Purpose
Strategy, Conduct & Risk (“GM SCR”) is a transversal team within Global Markets (“GM”) responsible for overseeing the main risks, driving the strategy and managing the financial resources of the business, while ensuring integrity and sustainable development in Global Markets’ portfolio of activities. Working in strong cooperation with Global Business Lines, transversal teams, functions and BNP Paribas’ General Management, GM SCR has a global mandate across all platforms, with team members in Americas, APAC and EMEA offices globally.
Within GM SCR, Credit Risk provides independent expert assessment on credit risk taking and ensures responsible decision making within Global Markets across business lines, regions and with coverage. The team anticipates areas of risk via regular portfolio reviews and act as global coordinator for all sensitive credit situations for the business. The team also represents Global Markets in credit committees chaired by the Group Executive Management and other management committees.
Main Responsibilities
1. Data intelligence
- Multisource data collection to quantify and qualify counterparty risk across client segment and country in APAC
- Data processing, clean-up and storage into structured database
- Production or risk metrics and reports to the Head of GM APAC business units
2. Support senior members of the Team with the coordination of projects with:
- the preparation of support documents,
- the invitation of participants, as well as
- the drafting of meeting minutes and of follow-up actions.
3. Ad hoc case studies
- Perform ad hoc research and analysis about specific topics, then concisely report findings in the form of memos or presentations
- Follow-up public information regarding a specific situation or development with a credit risk impact
4. Performance metrics and reporting
- Compile the deal pipeline of the Team as well as dashboards
Technical and behavioural Competencies
Students who are graduating from December 2019 to July 2021 from all areas of disciplines are most welcome to apply. The full time internship period would be at least 6 months starting in January 2019. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
- Analytical and writing skills
- Excellent knowledge of Word and Powerpoint, proficiency in Excel (VBA preferred); working knowledge of Access will be a plus
- Diligent and assertive
- Self-motivated and result-driven
- Business management and Finance orientated studies preferred
- Organizational and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English both in writing and verbally
