Long Term Internship (Part Time) - Global Markets - Data Scientist - Hong Kong

e-Commerce & Digital (e-C&D) is a cross business (GBL) department, responsible for driving the electronification and digitalization of Global Markets
- Within the e-Commerce space our focus is to manage the evolution and the enhancement of our electronic platforms (SDP, MDP, Portal, Sales Tools), with a Business objective to increase our footprint, provide efficiency to our clients and our Sales teams; and
- We are also in charge of driving the Digital transformation of GM and are directly responsible for monitoring, coordinating and delivering new digital products and services leveraging the GM LAB and Fintechs.
Key Responsibilities
e-C&D APAC is looking for interns eager to apply their statistical techniques knowledge to help the business understand and unlock hidden values in our data.
- Using available “cleaned” data sources, run statistical analysis on our clients base to identify patterns, trends and sudden changes in their activity (requests for quotes, trade information, …);
- Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable codes for data analysis; and
- Identify potential new data sources where applicable, clean and blend into our existing data stack.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Understanding of statistics, data analytics, and the ability to apply them to solve business problems;
- Able to work for 15 – 20 hours on a weekly basis for 4 months starting from January 2019;
- Good knowledge of Python and data analysis libraries;
- Understand fundamental design principles behind a scalable application;
- Be creative and enthusiastic with high level of initiative and drive;
- Committed, self-driven and ability to work under pressure;
- Strong team player;
- Capability to resolve issues;
- Hands-on, rigorous, meticulous and methodical;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; and
- Knowledge of FX and/or Equities markets desirable but not required.
